wunderbar hotel

Hi, we are thinking of staying at the wunderbar hotel in sept 09 can anyone advice if this is a good hotel and is there lots to do around the hotel eg shopping watersports and is bentota far from main tourist attractions

Hi there...

No problem at all with Hotel Wunderbar, great place to be, good rooms, fab food and service.

Just outside of Bentota, around a 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride away, and nearby Aluthgama too, so plenty choices for shopping and restuarants and watersports too, although the food is fab at Wunderbar.

All tourist attractions a some distance away from all west coast resorts, so maybe think about a 2 or 3 day trip to Kandy and Cultural Triangel from Wunderbar, they will be very happy to arrange this for you and at a good price too.

We absolutely loved the Wunderbar hotel, its a great little hotel.

The little restaurant overlooks the ocean and dining there with a gentle see breeze was just fabulous. Food marvellous, great staff, lovely rooms.

A 5 minute stroll down the beach early one morning (8ish) and we encountered about 40 or so fishermen working together and hauling in their nets, while the local restauranteers waited to barter for the catch. We felt like we had stepped back in time a hundred years. See my photos on this site.

They also have a little turtle sanctuary.
