Colombo - Nurawa Eliya - Colombo in a day?

Is it possible to do a day trip from Colombo to Nurawa Eliya and visit the tea gardens in one day? If so, wabout how much would it cost with a car and guide?

Hi there,

All the way to Eliya: 4-5 hours times 2 so a bit stretched to say the least. However serious mountains and tea gardens already start not so far east from Kitulgala, halfway Avissawella and Hatton. That%26#39;s only 3 hours from Colombo so much more maneagable.

For the full stretch expect something like Rs 10,000-12,000 as it%26#39;s 2 x 175 km. For the shortened stretch, 125 km or so, that would be Rs 6,000-8,000.
