5 nights in Sri Lanka (Bentota vs Unawatuna vs Galle)

Hi Forum, first off I think that you guys have been really helpful in the past. I am pretty confused about where to stay as I only have 5 nights in Sri Lanka. Landing in Colombo late February late February.

This will be part of my two week honeymoon but my wife and I prefer more of a party rather then quiet nights. We want a good night life and great places to eat sea food and Sri Lankan cuisine. We are also looking for something on the beach.

Budget would be about $200-250 per night including AI or HB. Looking for a modern hotel which is clean and friendly.

Kandi day trip

Turtle Orhanage

Elephant Orphanage

Snorkeling, boat cruise ?

Good Food

Decent nightlife, Dont really care if its touristy.

I am hoping to hear form actual toursits who have been to Sri Lanka in the past along with Local experts.

5 nights in Sri Lanka (Bentota vs Unawatuna vs Galle)

a) Galle town has no nightlife and no real beaches either.

b) Forget about a Pinawela/Kandy daytrip from Galle or Unawatuna, they%26#39;re 2 x 1 hour further from it than Bentota/Beruwala.

So Bentota seems best suited.

For this budget you can %26#39;buy%26#39; almost any hotel room in Lanka. Best standard hotel in Bentota is Taj Exotica but it%26#39;s only 4-star now; the suites are of course higher standard. Saman Villas would be a decent alternative but it%26#39;s a resort, 4 km from the Bentota %26#39;strip%26#39; with all the nightlife. Some other boutique hotels in that area could also be worth considering, see sites like www.boutiquesrilanka.com.
