We have just returned from Sri Lanka after an amazing 2 week holiday and would highly recommend that you spend at least 4-5 days touring the Island.
The guy we went with, we found through Trip Advisor. And we said that we would recommned him for other people to use.

We used DS Tours who are based about 5 minutes walk from the Jetwing Seashell Hotel - on the opposite side of the road.
Densil and Manju (the driver) took us and another couple touring for 5 nights and 6 days to the following places: Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Elia, Ella, Tangalle and Galle.
Nothing was too much trouble for these guys and we made so many stops at various temples, the Elephant Orphanage to name just a few. The safari at Budullah was fantastic - he organised a jeep with guides for us.
We also got a great deal going with them - much better than going with our Tour Operators. Approx, a quarter of their price.
