we are a couple travelling to the kandalama hotel in Dambulla at the end of Jan 09. please could we have some suggestions on the best way to get there from colombo airport, and an idea on how much we can expect to pay for the journey? thanks

Pre-arranged pickups won%26#39;t get much cheaper than ther 24-h fixed-price airport taxi.

It%26#39;s about 140 km distance and with a speed of 30-40 km/h that amounts to around 4 hours transfer. Price around Rs 10,000. It%26#39;s cheaper however when you make this part of a longer roundtrip with a tourist car/driver, because then they don%26#39;t need to calculate for an empty return ride.
