We are going to Sri Lanka with Elephant Island over Xmas this year and was wondering which was the best of the guide books to buy.

Any suggestions?

Lonely Planet would be as good as they get, but make sure it is up to date edition.

You could visit Sri Lanka Tourist Board before you start the tour.They will have all the useful informations.

Travel Sri Lanka magazine is fantastic, the best local mag on travel, unbaised and very interesting.

The Website is okay, but not that up-to-date, nor does it seem to have all articles.
