colombo to Sigiriya

We hope to fly into Colombo and then head straight for Sigiriya Village hotel. Would anybody have an idea of how long this trip will take Also the cost?

Also, is visa widely accepted in SL?

It will take you 3.5 - 4 hours by taxi to Sigiriya Village Hotel. Not sure of the current cost .. I think you%26#39;d be looking at about £50 for the one-way trip.

Visa is widely accepted .. certainly in hotels such as Sigiriya Village. Say hello to my friends at this lovely hotel when you%26#39;re there, especially Thilanka the Naturalist.

Yep, around 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending on what time of day or night you arrive at Colombo, i did it very recently in dead on 3.5 hours, but that was in early afternoon with not much traffic around.

Cost?, yep around £50 each way, can%26#39;t give exact cost in Rupees as currency fluctations there are now quite erratic !

Visa cards?, yes widely accepted in Sri Lanka, BUT !, you should inform your card issuer that you will be using it in Sri Lanka, and the dates when you will be there, this ';should'; safeguard you against the card not being honoured if it is outside your normal spending habits, card issuers are now keeping an eye on this to prevent fraud !, i saw a couple there 2 weeks ago whose card was refused because the card issuer had not been informed !, took a rather lengthy phone call to resolve problem.
