Hello

Can anyone suggest the best way to combine 5-7 days in sri lanka and 3-5 in maldives in February? Any suggestions for the best place to stay in maldives for snorkelling/relaxing? We can easily organise the lanka part ourselves.

Hi there,

By taking a combination ticket. Otherwise the return Colombo-Male gets quite expensive, whilst as an extra part on the UK-Asia ticket it%26#39;s at most 50 quid. Srilankan, Emirates and Qatar do this and also a few of the charter airlines (e.g. Edelweiss).

Better ask the best-place question in the Maldives forum on TA as you%26#39;re spoilt with choice. Ourselves we only stayed at Meedhufushi which matches your criteria but is quite high-end, many others (also closer to Male so allowing the cheaper boat transfer) are possible.

Qatar Airways do not fly Colombo-Male or Male-Colombo.

Emirates fly 4 times weekly Colombo-Male (dep. 0:15, arr. 1:15), but do not fly Male-Colombo anymore.

4 Nights Maldives

Land in Mumbai

Fly to Goa

Fly to Colombo

Fly to Male

Then Fly home from Male

Total cost of Internal Airfare 3 flights = 500 Quid for 2 people.

What I can suggest is that you Land in Colombo and fly back home from Male. Emirates may work or Qatar.

As for places I have never been to the Maldives however I am planning to stay at Royal Island Resort and Spa. Its within my budget, and it looks like a place where I wont get bored.
