Hi Ben

Lucky you !!, Christmas and New Year at Heritance Ahungalla my favourite hotel in all of Sri Lanka, wish i was coming along too, but i guess having only been back from there 2 weeks would be risking a little bother at home right?

Ok, restaurants, a really good one to go for a break away from hotel would be Hotel Wunderbar close to Bentota, maybe 15 minutes by car, little longer via tuk tuk, great food and entertainment there right on beach, and a reasonably new one near there too, it is Jah House i know it is open for lunches, not sure about evenings though, again right on beach, good Herbal Massage there too !.

Please say hi to everyone the at HA (as it is known locally), and say Mr Dave send his best wiahes, and wait for surprised looks !, especially when you check in and in restuarant too !

Have a great time there, as i am sure that you will do.

Dave

Thanks very much Dave, is there any report on the weather? cant work out from forecasts if its raining or sunny! Also do you think we should upgrade to Half Board as we are B%26amp;B and obviously not alot within shouting distance of the hotel?

Cheers!

Ben

Hi Dave, one more thing and I will leave you alone!. Does HA change up Travellers Cheques and Sterling?

Thanks!

Ben

Hi Ben

Weather??, been VERY nice there at HA recently, lots of hot sunshine, hmmm, now i am getting jealous !

Food??, well to be honest, do not upgrade to half board, then you will have the choice of 2 restaurants in which to have dinner, if half board, then only one, both are very good and you will be spoiled for choices, and at very reasonable prices too, all food at HA is excellent, with some of Sri Lanka%26#39;s finest chefs, including a world champion 9 gold medal winner too ! (Chef Dimuthu)

Main restuarant ( or Jute as they call it) mainly buffet type meals, coffee shop, (or Mustard as they call the restauraunt) is Ala Carte, and really nice too !, also if you fancy it, there is fine dining too, either in air con restaurant (Upper Room), or maybe on the beach !, also excelent, so enjoy ok.

Christmas and New Year, they usally lay a Gala Dinner, but could be different this year though !

Dave

Hi again Ben

HA does change Sterling, cash or Travellers cheques, BUT.... if i were you, take a trip into village and the local bank and change money there, better rates, hmmm, don%26#39;t tell em i told you though ok !!

Bank is a 10 minute walk, out the gate, turn left, and it is 500 metres on other side of road, or maybe take a tuk tuk for a few Rupees, around 100 would be ok, but don%26#39;t forget to take passport ok !

Change some at airport when you arrive, you have to pass several banking desks to exit arrivals ok, all give same rate of exchange !

Dave

Thanks Dave, you have been very helpful to us, we will of course report back with a review on our stay at HA and Sri Lanka in 2009.

Regards

Ben

Hi Ben

No problem, glad to be of help, i will be back there in time for the Sri Lankan New Year in April and can%26#39;t wait, it is like a second home for me there, and i am sure you will love it too.

Have a great time, and of course Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.

Regards

Dave

Hi Ben

For the last week or so it has been mostly blue sky from dawn to dusk with just a few drops of rain.

Last night is raining heavily and this morning has been mostly clouded with some spells of sunshine.

Hi Waterside......

NOT a good idea to promote your mother%26#39;s hotel/ reataurant here on TA, yes it may well be good, but advertising NOT allowed here !

Merry Christmas, and Happy New year.

Maybe, i will call in on my next visit to Sri Lanka ?

Regards

Dave
