Kandy then down to Beruwala - instead of Negombo

Hello there

Firtst of all our family of 11 including 2 teenagers, 2 10 year olds and a 2 yr old were going to Negombo with no trips out at all.(we only have 6 nights) Now I am being pursuaded by a tour company to take a package which consists of straight to Kandy from airport(staying at hotel Suisse) and then down to Beruwla (staying at Club Palm garden) for 4 nights.

This sounded ok to me but i told him 2 nights in Kandy as we would be tired after the airport.

I have spent weeks and weeks researching where to go and as we only have 6 days and dont want to travel too much because of our toddler its very confusing.

Is Beruwala an Ok place because i heard its boring and the hotel is awful. Please advise asap as i haveto make a decision today.

Well it might be an improvement. Suisse in Kandy is a bit of old-glory but in our opinion good enough 2-star. See the reviews for the pros and cons.

Beruwala is a perfect place for resorts with half board. Much better beaches than Negombo, and quite relaxed - with still enough to do at short rides distance, e.g. Bentota restaurant scene, turtle sanctuary, boat trips etc. It can indeed be boring if people want a scene on their doorstep but that does not seem to be your top priority. As for the hotel, again check the reviews as here too personal opinions can vary widely.
