5-6 Day Mountain Bike tour with Ecotourism Sri Lanka

hi Everyone,

My husband and I are thinking of booking the 5-6 day mountain bike tour run by ecotourism, which starts in Kandy and ends in Belihuloya, for end of June 2009.

I just wanted to know whether anyone has ever done this before and whether it is worth doing for the money. Also, is there another company or tour operator which runs the same thing?

We like the camping/lodging, biking and nature aspect of this trip. Plus the hassle free component of everything included in the price ie accommodation, bikes, food, guides, support vehicle.

Also, we were wondering whether end of June is a good time to go mountain biking around Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Horton Plains, Belihuloya? Or will this be too rainy?

Thanks in advance!

Pag

Hi Pag,

Not aware of other companies but then we don%26#39;t do much in this field. And the period isn%26#39;t too bad. The first intermonsoon period is then which means unpredictable weather on the west coast but reasonable weather in the hill country. Only Sept you can start getting huge half-day downpours there and also December-January, June should not have too many gray days.

All the best,

5-6 Day Mountain Bike tour with Ecotourism Sri Lanka

Hi Pag,

As far as I know this are the most famous %26amp; most experienced company organizing cycling tours in Sri Lanka. One guide will be accompanied you throughout the tour. Some of the cycling routes they used are not the main roads and special routes use for this cycling tour.

First day 鈥?cycling Kandy to Hantane Overnight stay in Kandy

Second Day 鈥?Cycling from Kandy to Nuwaraeliya via Hanguranketha. Overnight stay in Nuwaraeliya.

Third Day 鈥?Cycling Nuwaraeliya to Belihuloya 2 nights stay at River Garden Hotel.

This includes a local cycling tour from Belihuloya to Kalthota etc.
