Sri Lankan honeymoon in August????

We are thinking of Sri Lanka as our destination for our honeymoon, but I%26#39;m not sure if the weather is going to be too unreliable at that time of the year? It seems that the climate is variable. We%26#39;re fairly well traveled and dont mind an afternoon downpour but wouldnt fancy a week of constant rain. We%26#39;re thinking of doing a tour for about 5 days (central and Kandy)and then a week near Galle. Can anyone let us know if they%26#39;ve been to Sri lanka during August and what advice they would give?

Hi there....

I was in SL for all of August last year (2008) and the weather was....., well really good, just the odd little shower on one or two afternoons, so no real worries for you at that time i think.

Was in Kandy, and at Ahungalla, about 50 minutes from Galle, so roughly same as you are thinking about in terms of locations.

Temperature wise?, well on the coast it was around the 30 to 32 mark everyday, in Kandy a couple of degrees lower.

Bad weather really doesn%26#39;t kick intill around mid September time.
