for anyone thinking of renting a car in sri lanka, do not use shineway rental company. we should have known there would be a problem when the Toyota we rented was covered in scratches and dents.
we broke down twice, had a flat tire, no air con and one of the back windows didn%26#39;t work. i felt like we spent a good part of our holiday at the mechanics!
then when we returned the car they charged us $45 extra for having someone meet us at the airport. talk about adding insult to injury!
they are scammers and should be avoided.

It%26#39;s never a good idea to rent a car in Sri Lanka, unless you drive there every day! That is you are NOT a tourist!
