Flower garden Mishap

Dear all,

Firstly thanks to all for their suggestions/inputs that contributed to an extremely enjoyable recent trip to sri lanka save for one very distressing incident with flower garden hotel in unawatuna.

I had confirmed bookings with them two months prior to arriving in sri lanka and was supposed to check in dec 28th after touring the cultural triangle and was in constant contact with the owner sassi regarding the booking and it was all confirmed,even hours before arrival in unawatuna i received a phone call from mr.sassi confirming our reservations only to be told on arrival that a particualr guest didn%26#39;t check out therefore mr.sassi arranged rooms at sanmira renaissance hotel for one night reassuring us that we will have the room at flower garden the next day,however we were told by the manager of that hotel the next day that mr.sassi has asked us to stay another day at sanmira at which point we were totally flustered and exasperated and calls to mr.sassi didn%26#39;t result in any apology nor proper explanation,he ended the call promising to call within an hour.meanwhile we were inclined to stay closer to the beach and staying withing our budget we spent most of 5 stressful hours room hunting during high peak season resulting in our group of 5 being split into two different hotels.

Back home with some wonderful memories of Sri lanka and her hospitality I only feel it just that i share with fellow travellers our incident with mr.sassi from flower garden who didn%26#39;t honour his word and furthermore displayed a highly unprofessional manner and conduct in hope that a similar incident is averted in the future.coming from a service industry one cannot rest on their laurels but continue to strife to better them and I realise mr.sassi needs to learn this,there are countless other better hotels in unawatuna which we discovered during our 5 day stay there which are certainly more welcoming than mr.sassi and flower garden.To date i haven%26#39;t heard back from mr.sassi.
