Hi Chris,

Best and cheapest don%26#39;t go together in Sri Lanka.

Best way is by AC car/van with driver. The distance to Tangalle is about 225 km, so it will cost you LKR 13000-14000.

The cheapest is by bus from the airport to Colombo Fort railway station and then by either AC intercity bus from nearby Pettah bus stand or by train to Matara and then by bus to Tangalle. Intercity buses in Sri Lanka is not good if you have more baggage than just a backpack. Most likely you will have to pay for a seat for you baggage. Bus from airport to Colombo will be less than LKR 100. Intercity bus to Tangalle will be about LKR 400. Train to Matara is about LKR 230/2nd class, LKR 130/3rd class.

Look here for how to get the bus from airport to Colombo:

hi hans, navam perahera and if you could what is 13,000 in sterling

chris

Currently around 80 quid, but changing by the day. Www.oanda.com/convert/classic is a good site for following these things.

All the best,

thanks, any veiws on the navam perahera

Hi again Chris,

Navam Perahera is on 8th %26amp; 9th February.

LKR 13000 is about GBP 82.

Om the way to Tangalle you could stop at Kosgoda (Turtle Project), Ambalangoda (Mask Factory %26amp; Museum), Meetiyagoda (Moonstone mine), Hikkaduwa (Glass-bottom boat) and Gall (Dutch Fort), but if you fly in from UK it will be better to stop the first night in Negombo and do the sightseeing the next day.

Hans

thanks
