Over Xmas %26amp; New Year in 2007 Jellybelly %26amp; Cellulite did Sri Lanka!
Booking with First Choice Holidays we flew Gatwick to Columbo %26amp; did a 7 day Adventure Tour with a small group of 20 other like minded people - all strangers at first but friends by the end!!
We had a great guide (Ajeth of Hemtours) %26amp; the tour took us up north %26amp; through the centre of Sri Lanka. Highlights were visits to Provincial Towns, Ancient Temples %26amp; Fortresses, an Elephant Orphanage %26amp; a Tea Plantation. Travel was by comfortable bus on mostly rough roads but we did see what the country had to offer. Staying in 4 nice hotels offering good accomodation %26amp; great local food was a real bonus.- particularly over Xmas.
To round off our holiday we finished up at the Riverina Hotel in Beruwala for 6 nights. A great hotel with nice facilities %26amp; beach access. They put on a fantastic New Year dinner/show - even though Cellulite couldn%26#39;t be persuaded to compete in the Beauty Contest against slim Russian Blondes!!!
The local people we met were all really friendly %26amp; we were even invited to have a special dinner with Sudath %26amp; his familly - an employee at the Riverina Hotel. Don%26#39;t take his boys on at Cricket though - they will play against England one day!
We always felt safe on our holiday %26amp; it was great value for money. Jellybelly could even afford to commission %26amp; buy Cellulite a unique Cobra Gold Ring with Amathyst %26amp; Diamonds in Kandy!!
Sri Lanka gets %26#39;full marks%26#39; %26amp; so do First Choice Holidays!
