Emerald Bay Hotel Induruwa Sri Lanka

My wife and I wish to go to Sri Lanka in February (2009). There have been mixed reviews about this hotel. Accordingly can anyone who has stayed here recently please give me an update before I book it with Mercuryt Direct ,who I have used before successfully. Many Thanks.Duncan (Cardiff)

Not one to run down a hotel i am not 100% about, but Emerald Bay does not have a good reputation, but having said that once you arrive and don%26#39;t like the place Mercury will arrange a transfer for you, so advice is go, and check it out then call your Mercury rep, his name is Roshan, then arrange for transfer.

Emerald Bay is NOT a 4 star, please bear that in mind ok !, as a general rule star ratings in Sri Lanka will be one star below UK ones !!, although service will be fine.

We have stayed 2 times at Emerald Bay . We think the place is ok for what you pay. We would go back again and might do this year, but our bar man wants us to stay with him at his house. The staff are very nice now the catering manager PATTY has gone.It is in a nice quiet area, depends what you want on holiday. We have a good time no matter. November we stayed in Bentota close to this hotel and there was not much difference food wise but We think the rooms were better At Emerald Bay. We have even seen and spoke to people from other countries who go back 2 times a year. That shows it cant be that bad. The hotel is a 3* so was the other in Bentota, Emerald was the better. Suniel is our bar man so if you go remember us , We speak to him every Sunday.

Im completely agree with post of bladesboy . no many people talking about emerald bay but it is very nice and quite place having friendly staff . I think emerald bay got some what bad reputation due to the changing of management within very short period always pay les concern about maintaining at last part of their management .

Present management doing very well mainly key up fro Russian market .
