what to do

we are planning to visit Sri Lanka in Feb 2010. and would like some advice about things to do. We would like to visit Dambulla staying at the Heritance Kandalma for possibly 4 nights and then on to nuwara Ellya the tea factory 2 nights. then onto the coast possibly Bentote no idea about a hotel here for about 7 nights. Is this possible and would it pull in all the must sees we also looked at the saman villas, but think it may be to remote for us as we would rather eat out in the evening not full board in the hotel. would the best way to visit be doing an organised tour and beach stay or a tailor made trip as we wouldnt want to be in a large tour party.

Well good start ! ';What To Do'; is famous Sri Lankan saying when things don%26#39;t appear to be going right, usually accompanied with a shrug of the shoulders too !!

Ok Dambulla, and Heritance Kandalama, great choice of hotel anyway, but seriously you are central for lots of things there, for example Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temples, and maybe even a day out to the Holy Cities of Pollonaruwa, and Anaradapurra too, hmmm, hope spellings are correct ?

Tea Factory at Nuwara Ellya?, not so sure about 2 nights there, maybe would be better to break journey at Kandy, and see the sights there, like Temple of Tooth, Botanical Gardens ect, and of course Elephant Orphange too, so maybe think about this.

Bentota?, well as you sat Saman Villas is a little isolated from the ';Strip'; there at Bentota, but still restauraunts within reasonable distance from the, for example Hotel Wunderbar, around 5 minutes by Tuk Tuk.

Maybe, just maybe a n organised tour of a week or 10 days would be best for you, then take a breather on beach at west coast resort, and tours can be arranged privately with just the 2 of you rather than a big bus load, which in my opinion is far better anyway.
