we are planning a trip to Browns Beach Resort,Negombo Beach this year,what are the sea-swimming conditions like ?

Best hopes to be able to swim in sea at Browns would be in the December thru till April time, other times could be quite dangerous, although as always you should consult the lifeguards there at Browns, it is they who will no best if sea is safe or not.

Most ';probably'; it would be ok for a little paddle maybe up to waist level, but again you should ask as sea conditions can and do change by the hour.

I like Negombo beach, there%26#39;s always something happening, locals playing volleyball, cricket or football, were you can get a game if you want, a fleet of square sail catamaran fishing boats working from and maintained on the beach and plenty of locals to mix with, especially near Browns beach at the weekends.

But, unfortunately, the water isn%26#39;t usually very clean. A shade of brown most of the time , not the clear blue that we all want.

I hope you%26#39;re lucky and when you get there the sea looks lovely but unfortunately, the rubbish discarded by the fishermen who live in little huts on the beach, usually goes in the sea.

If I was staying at Browns beach, I%26#39;d use the beach for recreation and the hotel pool to swim in.

I agree with Dave. The sea is normal between December to April. but it gets a little ruff in the afternoon. lifeguards are working in that time. you will find that lots of locals playing lots games in the beach on the weekends.
