Food at the Hotel Club Dolphin

After reading the reviews on here we%26#39;ve just booked for next November. (Having just come back from Goa)

We%26#39;ll be All Inclusive, and are wondering what the food is like at the hotel; Is there a good choice of fresh fruit, drinks, authentic local dishes etc.

Last place we went the fresh fruit/desserts were almost non-existent, which we missed, as I love my desserts!!!!

Hiya

My hubby and myself have stayed at the hotel 5 times now [the last being September 2007], and there has always been a very good choice of food.

Breakfast: there is always a couple of types of cury, as well as cereal, many types of pastry, toast, omelette, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes and fresh fruit ie watermelon, pineapple, mango.

Lunch: there is a vairety of meals on for lunch with numerous desserts

Dinner: there is themed night each night ie indian, italian, chinese. However, there is always other types of food on also so i think alot of tatses are ctaered for. There are also various desserts also.

There is also an al acarte menu, which you pay for [each item is itemised so costs depend on what you buy].

There are many drinks you can have if you are all inclusive; wine is not included though.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that. As long as there%26#39;s a good choice we%26#39;ll be happy.

About the wine; if it%26#39;s anything like a typical local brew then we%26#39;ll be passing on it anyway!!!

Sri Lanka doesn%26#39;t produce it%26#39;s own wine, which is why it%26#39;s not included in ';all inclusive';. All decent wines are imported and tend to be expensive. Local beer and spirits are fine.

hi, we went to club dolphin for the first time in feb 08. I am an extremely fussy eater and was a bit concerned about what the food would be like, no need to have worried though. the food, selection, freshness was was the best. you have to taste the fresh pineapple! we are going back in March 09 and cant wait. We became friendly with a couple who had also been to Goa and whilst they said Goa was fab, they preferred Sri Lanka on all counts.

can any one tell me what sort of drinks they do and are they ok? does there sprits taste any thing like the real thing? or at least close thanks for any help

November is quite a way off and things change but last week the food was pretty good, lots of fruit, good desserts and always a local choice (ie rice and curry). Relax, it’s a good place
