I want to book a holiday in Beruwela, the flight out is 9.15 and I am worried about the transfer so early, anyone got any advice?

Hi there....

You have to be at airport 3 hours before departure, and as Beruwela to airport at that time of day ';could'; be around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic, you are looking at departure from hotel at around 3.15 to 3.45 AM !

True, though 2 hours before departure at airport is fine; the 3 hours delivers slack needed at times due to heavy traffic and Lankans not being very good in estimating times :-(

Advice: book a guesthouse or simple hotel in Negombo for the last night, and get a transfer from Beruwala the day before to that place. From Negombo to airport is 20 mins, gives a lot more sleep...

The transfer from the hotel is very early. When we stayed at the Neptune in Beruwela we left the day before and Mercury direct paid for our taxi to the Taj garden airport hotel which was only ten minutes drive from the airport. The Taj took us to the airport in their shuttle bus the next morning free of charge and we gained an extra few hours in bed it was great.
