Dayrooms inside Colombo airport

Hi, are there any dayrooms available inside Colombo airport for passengers? I know for more than 8 hours Srilankan airlines provides accomodation, but my transit time is less than 8 hrs, its 6 hrs actually.

Dayrooms inside Colombo airport

Hi Suchi,

Yep. Last time I passed by, 2 months back, they looked open. Between the pier (east) and the (west) hall with lounges, restaurants and the main shopping, on your left when you walk towards the hall. No personal experience.

All the best,

Hey Thanks Erik, i tried searching online to see if it is open and I could reserve it in advance, but nothing is mentioned... So i am not sure if I am supposed to just walk in or call or book it online.

I%26#39;m afraid that it is not so advanced as to allow prebooking. Which means walk-in, and no room guarantee.

Anyhow if fail you can still fallback on outside hotels, would cost you maybe 45 mins extra in terms of going out, hotel shuttle and returning and security. Taj Airport Garden (3-star) and Goodwood Plaza (1-star) offer this service with some frequency, the new Ramada airport has a less frequent shuttle.

All the best,

Hey Erik, Just got info that there are Day rooms in transit area and it is 25 USD for 12 hrs :)

I had one more question, how much does it is cost to make a local call from the telephone booth inside the airport?

Hi again,

If you mean the phone machines: avoid them, they have complex prepay cards or Rupee coins and both give headaches. If you mean the manned booth next to the day rooms: we%26#39;ve never asked but experienced real %26#39;local%26#39; prices, similar as what we pay on a Lankan mobile. So something like Rs 5-7 per minute, not bad at all. You can pay in rupee and in dollars.

All the best,
