Does anyone know the Unawatuna Beach Resort?
This is one of the hotels that I might be staying at in April 2006.
If anyone has any information about the hotel (good or bad) I would like to hear.
Thanks

Hi James,
I%26#39;ve only walked the premises and had lunch there.
Looks like a quality 3-star shop. Don%26#39;t expect very luxury rooms but full AC, balconies and all with (pretty) sea view. Plan to stay there with my family next year. Also read positive reviews on it in Dutch language.
Have a nice journey,

Prefer the Banana Garden in Unawatuna Bay - its a rustic restaurant with only a few rooms but a better location being right on the water%26#39;s edge, with fantastic views and very cheap. They do good food, lobster, garlic prawns etc. Depends what you are looking for in comforts - this place is charmingly basic, no TV etc. Even if you don%26#39;t stay there, go there for a meal - its just a short walk around the bay.
Unawatuna - Peacock Inn and Banana Garden are great
Also if you like an even more peaceful experience try Banana Garden%26#39;s sister accommodation and restaurant up the coast a bit past Matara

Why not consider going 20 minutes past Unawatuna to Mirissa (on the way to Matara). Much nicer beach and just as good restaurants and beach life.
Hi James,
Unawatuna Beach resort is a good choice. As erik mentioned don%26#39;t expect 5 star level rooms etc. Good foods. Good collection of cofees serves in the restaurant on your choice. Nicely located on the curve of the Unawatuna beach.
