Hi,

Please can anybody tell me if alcohol is available in places like cultural triangle,Ella Haputale etc.Is alcohol available in guest houses?

Also do they sell drinks like Baileys,

Cinzano Bianco or their equivalent and if so what are the prices like.

Hi,

most guest houses serve local beer, arrack, and other local spirits. Not many , in my experience serve imported drinks.

I drink lion beer, arrack and local gin, which is extremely good ( not all at the same time ) but not having bought any for about 6 or 7 months I wouldn%26#39;t like to guess at the inflation affected prices.

The way lion beer was going I%26#39;d reckon that is now about 150 to 180 rupees minimum.Per pint. Double that if you buy it in a hotel.

I%26#39;ll be checking all the prices in a couple of weeks.

Most towns have several off licences where you can buy basic spirits and beers. Bring your own Baileys or you ma be able to get it in duty free on arrival - there%26#39;s quite a good choice at decent prices after you go through immigration.
