I%26#39;ve heard that the ministry of defence is building next door to the Blue Water hotel. Does anyone know how much noise or disruption this is causing. Thanking you in advance for any information.

Just to add.... it is the law in the UK that travel companies tell you in advance of your holiday of any building work ect that may have any disruption in any way, if they have not done that, then generally speaking there will be nothing to worry about.

They do building constraction there but it is not noise to blue water.Blue water has big garden too.

It won%26#39;t make any disruption to the tourist at hotel.

Just back from the Blue Water - I will write a review soon but we had a great time with no disruption from any building work you will not be disturbed.

We got back from Blue water this morning and you will see the building work for a split second when you arrive, after that you wouldnt know it was there. There is no noise, no disturbance and not visual to guests, and we had a fantastic time. You will enjoy blue water it is lovely.

I%26#39;m travelling to the Blue Water Hotel in july on a half board basis for 14 nights and was wondering if anyone has travelled here recently or knows the hotel and can advise me on how much lunch/drinks/bottles of water, etc cost so i can budget my spending money. Any info would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

If above prices are correct ?? (lunch is expensive, even for a hotel !!), then maybe a better alternative to upgrade to All Inclusive when you arrive at Blue Water ??, would certainly be cheaper.

thanks for your replies, will now try to find out the costing of a/i locally, as travel agent is quoting £27 pppn, another £756.00 for both of us..don%26#39;t think i%26#39;ll use that much as planning to tour as much as possible.

As I think it is too much to upgrad to all inclusive.Acctually if you travel around country no worth of doing it.

Lunch at blue water is 20 dollars.

Beer is 3.5 dollars

water bottle is 1 dollar.

better to get those locally.

Rucci is right, The Water is much cheaper to buy from the little shops just outside the hotel. We have just come back from Blue Water and were on B%26amp;B. To upgrade to half board is $20pppn and to upgrade to All Inclusive is $45pppn but it is worth it. The food at the hotel also deserves a mention becasue im not a fan of all inclusive option but on this occasion at this hotel it was fantastic. And i have come home a good stone heavier in just 1 week.

Getting married in Blue Water

We saw lots of weddings whilst we stayed at The Blue Water over Christmas and New Year. They all had Kandyan Dancers which look and sound wonderful. A UK couple got married on New Years Day, and had an elephant ride as part of the ceremony, photos on the beach and then a secluded beachside dinner for the wedding party, 20ish of them. It all looked very lovely. Hope your plans go well.

We have just come back from Blue water and whilst we were there, there was a Sri Lankan wedding taking place which was just beautiful. It is the perfect setting for a wedding. i would say go for it, Blue water is a very romantic place and has everthing you will need.

Not stayed at Blue Water, BUT, when booking a special holiday for any hotel in Sri Lanka, like your parents for instance, then make sure that you tell the company that you are booking with.

They would almost certainly pass this info onto the hotels, you can of course e-mail the hotel yourself and make a ';special request'; too, i am sure that they would look on that favourably, and make sure that mum and dad add this info to the registration form when checking in too.

Blue water have a Suite which is lovely, i would recomend yu call the hotel as they are not quick in replying to emails. They also arrange special diiners which we had arranged for us whilst we were there which was lovely.

Well we arrived safe and sound Emirates were great , the hotel is basic and the food repetative but good the weather is hot hot hot , if you are thinking of going to the Neptune the poya days and any other day they can make a name up for,they wont serve alcohol but other places will. so will leave a full review soon . You do not nee Malaria Pills if staying in and around Induruwa, but should maybe take them if planning to travel up to the Cultural Triangle AND staying overnight, for example Dambulla and surrounding areas.

I will be around 10 minutes away at Ahungalla on April 1st, well there till May 9th too !

Ok, places to go and see?, well a 2 day one night trip to Kandy and the Elephant Orphange is always a very popular trip to do, so to is a day trip down to Galle, about an hour from where you will be, also Hikkaduwa, glass bottom boats over the corals there, mayeb a river safari at Balapitya too, always nice to do, that is around 15 minutes from you.

Also close by is Kosgoda, and the turtle hatchery there, go at sun down to release the babies back into the ocean, best time there.

Dont take any pills they make you ill!! And were you are you dont need them. You will meet our friends at Emerald Bay Hotel. It is a small but nice hotel with nice beach in a quiete area. You will enjoy. Sunile is one of the bar men and we speak every week with him. You are on the main road so use the local transport. ie air con buses or tuk tuk. we prefer the a/c buses. Go to Galle and Atuwana beach also as dave mentioned hickawadu beach is not to far. Also go inland by foot and you will see all typrs of creatures, Monkeys Snakes etc. Cinamon factory too. Do go to Kandy and try to see some of the waterfalls and elephant orphanage.
