Travel Advice

Hi All,

I%26#39;m hoping to travel to Sri Lanka in Feb for 10 days and really have no idea where to start,Area etc.

I%26#39;m looking for a little R%26amp;R.

I%26#39;ll be a lone female and just need to recharge.

Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced accommodation/cheap flights and will i be safe? Putting usual common sense into play?

Please help I need all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance.

Lily

Travel Advice

Hi Lily,

There%26#39;s been a few travellers on here lately claiming to have found cheap flights with

netflights.com

and also with Kingfisher Airlines.

Both of those probably worth a search or contacting for a quote.

Regarding where to go for R%26amp;R... depends on what you like. If it%26#39;s beach time, then the west and south coast is at it%26#39;s best this time of the year.

If you want plenty of other people around, then it%26#39;s the west coast. Bigger hotels around Bentota, Beruwella, etc and plenty of budget hotels and guest houses in Hikkaduwa or Unawtuna.

If you want less people, then try a search for Mirissa. A lovely beach and never gets crowded.

For quieter still, often a huge beach all to yourself, then the Dikwella, Tangalle area.

Or, maybe you like scenery, temperatures a little cooler and wandering around hils and forests, then head for the hill country.

Being a lone female is no problem as long as you use the usual common sense you%26#39;d expect to where ever you go.

Try doing a search on the beach resorts I%26#39;ve mentioned and also Haputale and Ella for a hill country stay...

When you%26#39;ve got more idea of where, come back and me and others can suggest possible accomodation in the areas you want.

Rod.
