i wonder if i may pick the Brains of the Experts please.

I am just putting the last bits to our Holiday Sept this Year, and wonder can anybody give me a price or at least an idea how much a Taxi would be to the Hilton Hotel early A.M, and how much a Taxi would be from the Hilton to the Citadel Kandy,Midday Two Days%26#39; Later.

Also would it be worth asking the Hilton about the Drivers%26#39; they have.

To cut a long story short, best, quickest, safest and cheapest please.

Any ideas or suggestions

Hi,

I assume you want to go from the Airport to Hilton. The distance is about 32 km and as you go one-way (taxi goes empty the other way) the km-rate is around LKR 60-70/km. So the trip should cost you LKR 2000-2200.

Colombo to Kandy is about 115 km, so the trip should cost you about LKR 7500.

Asking costs nothing, but drivers supplied by star class are usually more expensive then freelancers.

I guess you are correct asking Hotel might be more Monies, but having stayed with them last Year with a promise to return, we have opted out of the First part of our Holiday and are going it alone revisting old places and friends.
