hi to you all, thinking of going to sri lanka soon ,been to goa a few times are they as friendly?

solo travler so looking for cheap accom? any visa needed?

Hi Chris,

1) Yes for sure, at least as friendly as the Goans!

2) No visa needed for a stay upto 30 days.

3) Best to first find a guesthouse at Negombo, near the airport. After some relaxing travel by bus/train to Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna and Mirissa which also are backpackers havens and have lots of affordable acco.

It all depends what nationality you are. If US, or part of the EU countries and some others you will get a 30 day (free) upon arrival. But from some countries they do require a visa in advance.
