Yes possible but won%26#39;t be much attracted. At least 8 hours traveling both ways. Hence you will have less time for your excursions.

Hi. I am in Cairns and going back to Kandy for a week on 11th Feb. It is really too much for a day trip Colombo-Kandy-Colombo. There is daily express trains from Colombo with an observation deck - its great. Trip takes about 4 hours. How long will you be staying in Colombo for? It really is just another big city and quite uninteresting. Kandy is a wonderful place to base yourself, and trips from Kandy take half the time.

I stay at a wonderful B %26amp; B - about $12 Aust. per night including breakfast. Can give you details if you wish. When are you going to Sri Lanka?
