going back to kani lanka end of march and will be doing the things we could not get to do last time eg eat out more evening can you tell me if poss to access other hotels just for food and maybe lunch and beach in day i know it will be 20 minutes tuk tuk ride bentota so not really bothered about 20 mins or half hour ride

Yes for sure, basically all hotels have their restaurants open for lunch and dinner. Closest choice would be Beruwala (and the K%26#39;tara north hotels like Mermaid and Ramada) but that%26#39;s solely hotels. Bentota has both hotels and independent restaurants.

thanks erik any names to look for independent im not bothered if longer ride out and also looking for for nice non busy beach for a day out with lunch facilities/longers/brollys if you or anyone has any ideas thanks

There are also independent restaurants at Beruwala (Moragalla). On the beach you will find Maharajah (good seafood) and Blue Lagoon (good pizzas and Italian). On Galle Road are Riverdale (posh (sic) 2 pot of tea for 2 cost LKR 800), Lagoon Garden and Ayesha.

In the tourist area in Bentota are Golden Grill, Susanthas, Goldi Steak House and Green Shadow (seafood).
