help need advice

Myself and girlfriend are thinking of going to sri lanka around sept/oct this year where is good to stay, with things to do she likes shopping (handbags etc) and me beach/watersports, also what is the ave going price of things eg beer,food, etc etc. any advice /help would be great

We%26#39;re biased so won%26#39;t give details on how GREAT a tourist destination we think it is ;-)

Good to stay, with enough shopping opportunities around and watersports: e.g. Negombo and Bentota. Colombo has most shops/malls but is really only interesting for a day trip.

Beer (local): Rs 100-150

Lunch (with local drink): Rs 600-900

Dinner (ditto): Rs 1200-1500

All in tourist restaurants so good quality.

September is considerably better in chance for nice weather than October when 2nd intermonsoon season usually starts.
